    TITLE:

    2015 Dissemination Seminar on KWDI ODA Research Project

    As Part of “Strengthening Gender Equality Policy Infrastructure in the Asia-Pacific Region (V)”


    OBJECTIVES:

    The Dissemination Seminar will:

     

    1) Share KWDI’s ODA research findings and key research activities   

    2) Identify areas and strategies for further cooperation with government officials, donor agencies and international organizations in support of Vietnam’s gender situation

    3) Raise awareness on gender issues and necessary policies in each partner country

    CALL FOR PAPERS

    Compilation of Gender and Development Cases in ASEAN Countries

     

    As Part of

    Korea-ASEAN Cooperation Project

    Curriculum Development on ‘Gender and Development’ in ASEAN Universities

     

     

    OBJECTIVES

    Established under the Prime Minister’s Office of South Korea in 1983, Korean Women’s Development Institute (KWDI) has been providing policy and legal recommendations to the South Korean government based on in-depth analyses of gender and family issues. Since 2012, KWDI has been carrying out Korea-ASEAN Cooperation Project titled “Curriculum Development on ‘Gender and Development (GAD)’ in ASEAN Universities.” As one part of this project, KWDI would like to compile case studies of women’s development experiences in each of the ten ASEAN countries. This compilation is expected to be used as teaching material in GAD courses as well as a basis for GAD research in ASEAN universities. We will distribute the final compilation to participants of this project, academicians at ASEAN universities, and other organizations dedicated for gender and development issues.

     

    TOPICS

    Authors are invited to submit papers on any issue related with gender and development experiences in their respective countries. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to: 

    -       Women’s political empowerment,

    -       Women’s economic empowerment

    -       Women’s human rights

    -       Women’s health

    -       Women’s education

    -       Gender Based Violence

     

    ELIGIBILIY

    This Call for Papers is open to professors, researchers and students affiliated with academic or research institutions in ASEAN countries.

     

    GUIDELINES FOR ABSTRACT SUBMISSION

    For application, please send the following information electronically to kwdigad@kwdimail.re.kr by September 22, 2014:

     

    -       Abstract (Attached form, 500 words maximum)

    -       A short bio of the author (Attached form, 150 words maximum)

     

    GUIDELINES FOR FULL PAPER SUBMISSION

    -       Papers should consist of no more than 5,000 words. More specific technical requirements including the citation style will be provided later to the accepted authors.

    -       All papers may be written as case studies, comparative researches, investigative papers or narratives.

    -       Final papers will be compiled and printed to be distributed to ASEAN universities for teaching material and to related organizations in the region

    -       All authors of submitted full papers may be asked to refine or develop further their work after review by KWDI before final printing

    -       Full papers should be based on the accepted submitted abstracts.

    -       All submissions must be in English and must include title and author information, including author affiliations.

    -       All authors should be aware of the danger of plagiarism and should acknowledge sources with proper citation.

     

    BENEFITS

    Authors of selected papers will receive an honorarium upon the completion of the editorial process. All accepted authors will be invited to present his/her final paper at an international conference in South Korea scheduled in May, 2015. Expenses including economy airfare, hotel accommodation, meals and per diem will be covered by KWDI.

     

    SELECTION PROCESS

    All applicants will be selected based on the evaluation of the submitted documents. Selected applicants will be notified individually.
